It seems like Iowa State’s upset of Oklahoma in 2017 was the turning point of the football program under Matt Campbell. The Cyclones went on to win eight games that year as well as their bowl game.

In 2018, they played Oklahoma close but ended up losing 37-27. However, the Cyclones were without Brock Purdy under center at that point in the season.

While I think the Sooners end up with a loss or potentially two during the regular season, I think they rise to the occasion and beat Iowa State at home.

Iowa State will come in undefeated and if Oklahoma already has a loss to Texas, it will need this win to stay in the Big 12 race.

This loss won’t keep Iowa State out of the Big 12 race, but will just create some drama at the top between Iowa State, Oklahoma and Texas. This will be a close game that ultimately goes Oklahoma’s way.

Final Score: Iowa State 30, Oklahoma 38 (8-1, 5-1)
