This rivalry has been dominated by Iowa, especially as of late, as the Hawkeyes have won the past four games against Iowa State. Last year, Iowa won 13-3 but that was before the Cyclones had Brock Purdy under center.

Iowa is one of the most consistent teams in college football and is coming off a 9-4 season. They return a veteran quarterback and always have a solid defense. As usual, they will have a chance to win the Big Ten West and will surely win a few games they aren’t expected to win.

However, this is not one of the games that Iowa wins and Iowa State breaks the losing streak with Purdy leading them to victory. They get the Hawkeyes at home this year and will win in a dog fight with Purdy leading them to a game winning drive in the fourth quarter.

Final Score: Iowa 20, Iowa State 24 (2-0)
