The Egg Bowl will be taking place on Thanksgiving Day again and should hold plenty of excitement. This is always a huge game in the state of Mississippi, but the brawl that broke out last year will make things even more interesting. Ole Miss may need to win this game to get into a bowl game as well.

Mississippi State is 2-3 in the last five Egg Bowls, but blew out Ole Miss last year 35-3. Every game  between the Bulldogs and the Rebels the past five seasons has been decided by double digits besides the game in 2017 when Ole Miss won 31-28. I expect this game to echo the one from 2017 and come down to the wire.

Ole Miss will be starting its redshirt freshman quarterback Matt Corral, who was one of the players in the middle of the fight last year. He will basically have had a full season under his belt by this game. This will be a physical game that goes back and forth with each team having multiple chances to put the other team away. Mississippi State ultimately comes out on top.

While this may not be the season Bulldog fans were hoping for, as long as every game is close and the offense shows improvement, a 7-5 record with an extremely tough schedule should give fans optimism heading into the offseason.

Final Score: Ole Miss 24, Mississippi State 27 (7-5, 3-5)
