Mississippi State’s first road game of the year comes in Week 5. The Bulldogs will be 4-0 entering their SEC road opener and this will be the start of the toughest part of their schedule. After this Auburn game they have a bye before heading to Tennessee, hosting LSU and then traveling to Texas A&M.

Gus Malzahn is on the “hot seat” once again for Auburn, but should have the Tigers playing good football. He will have a freshman at quarterback and will be calling the plays once again.

The Bulldogs will be coming off a big win, but also a mentally taxing win in their previous game against Kentucky, but will have to find a way to power forward against Auburn before their bye.

Auburn’s offense comes out firing and finds a way to score early on the Bulldogs’ defense. The defense for Mississippi State makes adjustments at halftime and slows down the Tigers, but the offense isn’t able to find much success against the Tigers’ defense.

Auburn hands Mississippi State its first loss of the year.

Final Score: Mississippi State 16, Auburn 27 (4-1, 1-1)
