Mississippi State will be coming off a bye and Tennessee will be coming off a loss to Georgia. Tennessee will be right in the middle of their toughest stretch of the season just like Mississippi State will be. Tennessee’s tough stretch includes Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Alabama and South Carolina all in a row with one bye thrown in there.

This will be a must-win for Tennessee.

Tennessee is a program looking to take the next step and get to a bowl game as the Volunteers have missed out on a postseason appearance the past two years. The Volunteers will be starving for a win and in front of a good home crowd will welcome the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State will come in at 4-1 looking for its offense to improve, and it will show signs of life and improvement against Tennessee.

However, the Volunteers are showing improvement as well and gets into a back-and-forth type of game. Tennessee takes the lead early in the fourth quarter and is able to hang on and get the win, giving the Bulldogs their second loss of the season.

This ends up being a huge win for Tennessee moving forward.

Final Score: Mississippi State 31, Tennessee 34 (4-2, 1-2)
