23. Michigan State University: Spartan Stadium

The Big Ten produces some of the best teams in college football every year, as the conference has had its fair share of national champions. One team that has been a constant in the college football landscape throughout their history has been the Michigan State Spartans, who also happen to have one of the better home-field advantages in the country.

The Michigan State football team began at the club level and earned their varsity distinction in 1896. Since then, the Spartans have won nine Big Ten titles and six national championships. As a program, Michigan State has come out on the winning side over 700 times. Recently, the Spartans have won three Big Ten titles this decade.

Since 1923, the Spartans have played their home games inside Spartan Stadium, though it was not always named such. Formerly known as College Field, Macklin Field, and Macklin Stadium, the venue has grown over the past 90-plus years. It can now seat nearly 80,000 fans. Aside from the football program, Spartan Stadium has hosted concerts and other sports, but it is mostly used for Spartan football.

Spartan Stadium has a distinct home-field advantage, as fans of the program are some of the more passionate in college football. The Spartans posted back-to-back undefeated seasons at home from 2010 through 2011, which, in the Big Ten, is quite the feat. Spartan Stadium is the sixth-largest in the Big Ten, but on any given Saturday, it can sound like the loudest.
