18. University of Alabama: Bryant-Denny Stadium

The Alabama Crimson Tide is one of the more iconic programs in all of college football and has been since Nick Saban took over as a head coach in 2007. Of course, before Saban came in and starting winning national titles on nearly a yearly basis, the program had some other iconic head coaches, like Paul “Bear” Bryant, Gene Stallings, and Frank Thomas.

Currently, the Crimson Tide play their home games inside Bryant-Denny Stadium, which as you can see by the name, was named after Coach Bryant. In addition to one of the greatest coaches in college football history, the stadium also bears the name of George Denny, the school’s president from 1912 through 1932.

Opening in 1929, the stadium was called Denny Stadium to start, but Bryant was added after a historical run at the school that brought home six national titles. To date, Saban has won five national titles as the school’s head coach. So he is knocking on Bryant’s door as we enter the 2019 season.

In terms of the stadium, there are few atmospheres like it in college football. Holding over 101,000 fans, it is the fourth biggest stadium in the SEC. The program has won 17 national titles and 70 bowl games, both records in college football. When they are home, the Crimson Tide are one of the harder teams to beat in the nation thanks to their incredible fan base and stadium.
