24. Wisconsin

The good

Wisconsin took advantage of an opportunity, taking over for a down Nebraska as the premier program in the Big Ten West. Over the better portion of the past several decades, it’s been the Badgers who represent the impressive resume in the Midwest.

The bad

The talent discrepancy between Wisconsin and the heavy hitters in the Big Ten East hasn’t lessened, making fans wonder if a 13-1 season in 2017 is the best the program can do.

The bottom line

At the end of the third quarter, teams trot across the field to prepare for the final period of regulation. At Camp Randall Stadium, something unique happens: “Jump Around” begins to blare from the sound system and the entire arena begins to shake. Even Bucky the Badger joins in the festivities.

Every weekend, this moment represents one of the most beautifully intoxicating experiences that define college football. The success of the team has only added to the fire and made these celebrations all the more exuberant. Wisconsin may or may not have a good team on a given year, but the home crowd is going to have fun.
