15. Florida State

The good

From Bobby Bowden to Jimbo Fisher, Florida State enjoyed multiple national championships and decades of success. The celebrations were epic and the journey was one of a lifetime for Seminoles fans.

The bad

The ride came to a jarring stop when Fisher left for Texas A&M, bringing out the best (and worst) from Noles Nation. The words from the fans, administration and Fisher put an unfortunate black mark on what had been, up to that point, a proud fanbase.

The bottom line

The decline of this Floridian program has been significantly steeper than what happened in Miami, but that doesn’t diminish their storied past or the fervent fan support. There’s no changing the notoriety of the Florida State brand, regardless of how many coaches come and go.

College football is cyclical, and it won’t be much longer before this rough spot has passed from Tallahassee and the Noles are back to their winning ways. The fans waited through the rough years at the end of the Bowden era and were reward with Fisher’s 14-0 season in 2013. The good times will return, and the FSU fans will be ready.
