Auburn got the win the last time this game was played at Jordan-Hare, but the Tide have won four of the last five Iron Bowls. This is the biggest rivalry in the sport, and the result of this game resonates within the state for 365 days a year.

However, another result that has resonated has been that of January’s title game. The Tide fell to Clemson by a score of 44-16, and they haven’t heard the end of it. They’ll be on a revenge tour in 2019, and that isn’t a pleasant thought.

Prediction: Loss (8-4, 4-4)

This Alabama team is so dangerous. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 43 touchdowns and nearly hit the 4,000-yard mark, and he never played in the fourth quarter.  He has two lethal weapons on the outside in Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs. Najee Harris is another in the line of great Tide backs.

The defense is a typical Tide defense. They’re ultra talented, and they should be elite once again.

Final Record: 8-4, 4-4 SEC

No, 8-4 isn’t the kind of record that leaps off the page, but if it comes with victories over Georgia and Oregon, perhaps Malzahn’s seat cools. In 2017, when Gus appeared to be on the way out, it was victories over Georgia and Alabama that saved his job.

This is an unpredictable season on the plains. The one thing that is certain, however, is that this season will memorable, for better or worse.
