Auburn Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2019 season
Auburn will open 2019 in a very similar fashion to 2018. Once again, they’ll play a Pac-12 team at a neutral site. This year, they’ll swap Washington for Oregon, and Atlanta for Arlington. Against Washington, the Tigers had a significant advantage in terms of attendance, but this matchup may be a bit more neutral.
Much like Auburn’s two defensive linemen, the Ducks had significant players decide to play out their eligibility. Quarterback Justin Herbert could very possibly been one of the top players taken in the draft, but he decided to give it one more go in Eugene.
The Tigers may be unpredictable under Malzahn, but they have certainly shown an ability to win big games. Herbert may give Oregon the advantage at quarterback, but Auburn’s defense will hold its own. If the Auburn defensive line can get pressure on Herbert, it will go a long way towards a Tiger win.
In a down Pac-12, this is one of Oregon’s few big game opportunities in 2019. Auburn, on the other hand, is only getting started.
Prediction: Win (1-0)
