The Kansas State Wildcats are another Big 12 team dealing with a change at the top, but replacing the legendary Bill Snyder is a tall task for anybody. Enter North Dakota State’s Chris Klieman, a four-time national championship winner in five seasons with his former program.

Having a background like that certainly helps build cache within a program, but it doesn’t necessarily translate to wins on Saturday. This team, like very other program with a new coach, will have some growing pains. But to think they’ll be a pushover could spell disaster for opponents.

The Mountaineers, however, won’t be in that state of mind under Brown, especially with his background at Troy. His teams always elevated their play when big-time programs were on the schedule, and Brown understands how to keep his kids focused.

This will be a solid late-season road test that if the ‘Eers pass, could make them bowl eligible.

Prediction: West Virginia 28, Kansas State 24 (6-4, 4-3)
