1. Quarterback prominence

For the foreseeable future, the UCF Knights appear to be quite content at the quarterback position. McKenzie Milton could very well be back next season after Brandon Wimbush moves on to the NFL. However, even if Milton doesn’t come back as good as he once was, there will be two other quarterbacks ready to support the team.

Darriel Mack Jr. broke his ankle prior to fall training camp, which took him out of the quarterback battle with Wimbush. But, Mack Jr. is only sophomore at the moment. He still has at least two years left of football to be played.

Lastly, true freshman, Dillon Gabriel, looked fantastic in this game, especially given that it was his first college football game. Gabriel played a handful of drives, including some in the first quarter. He passed for 127 yards and threw three touchdowns. Josh Heupel may need to keep getting Gabriel playing time this year to ensure he doesn’t transfer at the end of the year.
