Wisconsin Football: 3 bold predictions vs. USF in Week 1
By Dante Pryor
1. Wisconsin will be on upset alert
Although this doesn’t shake out to be one of those whoever has the ball last sort of games, if South Florida has the ball last they might just pull the upset. If Wisconsin has the ball last they’ll give it to Jonathan Taylor to run out the clock.
Each team has something to hang their hats on to give their opponents’ defense fits all night long. The Badgers are going to have to figure out this new look South Florida offense. They are going to spread the field and throw it in space all game long. Not only that, they are going to go fast — really fast. It’s August in Tampa Bay, Fla., so you know it’s going to be hot. Heat and speed aren’t a good combination for a defense.
Wisconsin, on the other hand, won’t be so difficult to figure out. They are going to hand it to Jonathan Taylor quite often and attempt to control the clock.
One of their best defensive tactics will be to dominate time of possession. If they can limit South Florida’s possessions that will keep the defense fresh. I’m not a betting man, but I would take the points, the under or both in this one.
