1. Alabama was Alabama on defense, despite injuries

Alabama got some awful news earlier this week as their star linebacker, Dylan Moses, sustained a knee injury and will most likely miss the rest of the 2019 season. While Bama will certainly miss him this season and there will probably be some growing pains as the younger linebackers try to step up and take his place, Bama’s defense was stout.

As mentioned earlier, they are playing a Duke team that could play well in the ACC, but just isn’t on the level of Alabama. With that said, it is still encouraging for Alabama fans that their defense played so well while missing their star linebacker.

Alabama forced three turnovers, two were interceptions and one was a fumble.

Alabama only gave up 97 yards passing to the Blue Devils and only 107 yards rushing. Duke had one big downfield completion, but besides that, the offense couldn’t really get anything going. This was a good start for the Alabama defense, but honestly as long as Nick Saban is head coach, what do you expect?
