1. That looked like classic Badger defense

Four sacks, two interceptions and suffocating run defense — they woke up the echoes of Lamark Shackelford and TJ Watt the way they got after it against the Bulls tonight.

Everything pointed to this game being competitive tonight. South Florida had a number of guys back healthy who missed last season due to injury. The Bulls also have speed all over the field. Usually speed can counterbalance physicality, but the Bulls didn’t have the opportunity to get off.

The Badgers suffocated the Bulls’ offense.

They pressured Bulls quarterback Blake Barnett all night so he couldn’t get the ball to his play makers. He was running for his life all night against the Badger front-four.

The Badgers didn’t have to blitz which gave them the opportunity to disguise coverage all night and speedy tailback Jordan Cronkrite had no room to run, and by virtue of the game getting out of hand so fast they couldn’t use him much tonight anyway.
