4. Bobby Petrino left Louisville a mess

Former Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino left the Cardinals program a complete mess. Scott Satterfield has to change the culture and the personnel.

On the personnel front, Satterfield is installing his system on both offense and defense, so he has to recruit his guys and root out a culture that demeaned and tore down players. Satterfield has to figure out how to coach guys hard while keeping them encouraged.

It’s a home game, so you’ll see the Cardinals start hot, and make a few plays. Their defense will eventually get overwhelmed by what Notre Dame is going to bring on offense.

As the Irish defense forces three-and-outs, the Cardinals will eventually sink. I fully expect coach Satterfield will have them ready to play. They will flash and show you signs that Satterfield is changing the culture down in Louisville, but you need players, and he doesn’t have them yet.
