3. Ian Book will have a wonderful start to his season

There isn’t a player in the country with more to prove than Ian Book. He played behind a really good offensive line, and had a great complement of skill players around him like Dexter Williams and Miles Boykin.

More from Notre Dame Fighting Irish

After taking over for Brandon Wimbush, he improved the Irish’s offensive production especially in the passing game. He gave them a spark they didn’t have, and led them to the College Football Playoff. In the playoff game against the Clemson Tigers, he looked over matched and overwhelmed.

This season, he has to prove whether he’s a guy that has another level or a guy who can just run the offense and is as good as the guys around him. He’ll have a full complement of players around him this year, and one of the best offensive lines in the country, the question is can Ian make the play.

Louisville is the perfect defense to play and start the season. The Cardinals were terrible last season giving up almost 500 yards and 44 points per game. Ian Book might not answer the questions about how good he is, but he should have a really good game.
