1. This could be Lincoln Riley’s last season in Norman

Lincoln Riley is well on his way to coaching his third consecutive Heisman Trophy winning quarterback. However, what is more notable about this feat is that all of them have been transfers.

Developing transfers and using them to take his team to the College Football Playoff is extremely similar to the type of coaching needed in the NFL, especially given the high turnover rate of players on professional teams.

This season is different because, for the first time, Lincoln Riley has shown that he can put a quality defense on the field. Dana Holgorsen is an extremely talented coach who knows how to employ a dynamic player like D’Eriq King and the various weapons he has at wide receiver. However, Lincoln Riley prepared his team such that they were able to contain the Cougars’ offense while the game was still meaningful.

Teams in the NFL will be looking for innovative coaching minds to bring something new to the league. Just like the Arizona Cardinals taking a chance on Kliff Klingsbury, someone else will be looking to lure Lincoln Riley away from Oklahoma. Cleveland Browns, anyone?
