Studs

Tua Tagovailoa

The offensive line didn’t look great for Alabama early, but Tua Tagovailoa still managed to have a great game. The Tide kept the game plan simple, and it worked incredibly well. Tua went for 336 yards on 26-for-31 passing and four touchdowns. He reminded us what a healthy Tua looks like, and he looks to remind us all season.

Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts sat behind Tua at Alabama last year, and the Tide simply would not have made it to the national championship without him. As a senior, Hurts looks to lead the Sooners to the playoff for the third straight season. He looked phenomenal in his opener, smashing records with both his arm and his legs.

Jonathan Taylor

There is a battle right now for the top running back in the country between Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne. This Saturday, Taylor made his case for the top spot. He had 183 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns. One interesting thing about the game is that he scored on both of his receptions. He looks to continue to affect the passing game for the Badgers this season.

Mack Brown

In his first game in a long time as head coach, Mack Brown had to come back against South Carolina. He led UNC to a comeback victory. Not much to say in this one, but congrats to the coach for winning his debut with the Tar Heels.
