Jalen Reagor. 13. 46. WR. TCU. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Colts are picking here and not later in the round due to the unexpected retirement of Andrew Luck. The Colts may still contend for a playoff spot but we don’t know what the quarterback situation will be like moving forward. I don’t think they’ll look to replace Luck immediately, which means we can have some fun with this pick.

The Colts have a lot in place already. The offensive line is one of the best in the NFL and the defense has some really solid players. So those spots can wait.

Instead, I have the Colts drafting for want and taking the super explosive Jalen Reagor out of TCU. The Colts just took Parris Campbell out of Ohio State last year who is a shifty receiver in his own right, but that’s not enough of a reason to pass on a guy like Reagor who can stretch the field as well as anyone in the game. He will immediately force defenses to back off the line of scrimmage creating more opportunities for that great offensive line to go to work in the run game.

T.Y. Hilton has been a great receiver in Indy for a long time. This pick is to insure against his decline and keep the offense well-balanced for whenever the new long-term quarterback gets put into place.
