Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Bryce Hall. 18. player. 36. Virginia

Seattle has come a long, long way from the Legion of Boom era when the defense, led by an elite secondary, led the team to the brink of back-to-back Super Bowls. This pick will help kickstart the rebuild that should have never had to happen in the first place.

Hall is a big corner that contests the ball every chance he can. He’s not super flashy but he will get the job done. He should stick around in Seattle’s secondary for a long time. Coming from Virginia, Hall isn’t the sexiest pick the Seahawks could make, but it would be a smart one.

It’s been a while since Seattle made a good, early pick. If Hall has a good year, as a fourth-year starter, and he’s on the board, this one should be easy. The whole defense is starting to age and it’s only getting worse. More investment in the offense could be where Seattle goes to help out Russell Wilson as he progresses beyond 30 years old but that won’t help the Seahawks win football games as much as getting a solid defensive back on the field.

Hall won’t be a physical freak on the field so fans may not fall in love with this one. But what Hall does do is simply play the position well. Hall is somebody Seattle won’t have to worry about for a long time.
