Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. 20. player. 52. Texas. Collin Johnson

The Jaguars are getting an absolute physical monster in Collin Johnson right here. The 6-6 wide receiver out of Texas can stretch opposing defenses and help the Jaguars create more room for the running game, which is something they haven’t been able to do with much success lately. Johnson complements Dede Westbrook well and gives the Jaguars a nice, diverse one-two combo to throw at opponents. Surely teams won’t be equipped to cover both.

The Jaguars may or may not be in it for the long haul with newly acquired Nick Foles, but the least they can do is try to set him up for success. The defense really doesn’t need much. It’s absolutely loaded with talent, and the Jags just added Kentucky edge rusher Josh Allen in last year’s draft. It’s time to get to work on the offense. Now and for the future.

Johnson can help this offense right away and will become a threat to be the top receiving target on the team just because he’s such a big target and he works down the field so well. If Foles is able to get the ball in his vicinity, he can make a play on it. And that’s all you should really be after when looking for a target at this point of the first round.

The Jaguars could look to add more on the offensive line, but the weapons available on offense in this draft are too plentiful to pass up for an offense lacking in the explosion category.
