Scouting Report. WR. Alabama. 22. player. 49. Pick Analysis. Henry Ruggs III

After spending loads of money and draft capital on Mike Pettine’s defense, the Packers should be candidates to invest big in Matt LaFleur’s offense for the stretch run of Aaron Rodger’s career. So why not get one of the fastest players in the country here?

Henry Ruggs III fits well in Green Bay because the Packers already have Davante Adams locked up for the future. And because of that, the Packers aren’t likely to be adding to the receiving corps in free agency. General Manager Brian Gutekunst has made it a point to increase the overall athleticism of the team with recent draft picks, a stark change from Ted Thompson before him, and Ruggs absolutely fits the bill.

You won’t get far in life before you hear about how fast Ruggs is. He’s just so fast. Like, insanely fast. It’s the first thing they’ll say on the television broadcast about him and it’ll be the first thing said on his plaque in Canton. He can polish up a few other areas of his game, but his speed is too game-breaking to pass up.

Ruggs is a guy Rodgers won’t have to work hard to create for. Ruggs will do it all himself. Any team would be lucky to have him, and pairing him with one of the best arms in the league would cause nightmares.
