player. 58. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. Alabama. Jerry Jeudy. 4

Washington got its quarterback last year and it should look to get him some help immediately this year. Chase Young is off the board already in this mock so the Redskins can get bold and take a receiver. I’m not a huge fan of taking receivers and running backs this early in the draft, but Jerry Jeudy is the best receiver to come along in a long time.

Jeudy profiles out as a true number one wide receiver that can put a jolt into this franchise. Jeudy can work at every level of the defense both with and without the football in his hands and Dwayne Haskins has the arm to get it to him wherever he might be. He is an elite route runner and an excellent athlete.

I would love to see Jeudy in a better situation than Washington, but there are far worse situations he could fall to. And if Washington doesn’t take him here then somebody else will take him shortly after strictly because of his upside.

I joked a few weeks ago on Twitter that I thought Jeudy could be the first overall pick. I’m not personally in love with any of the quarterbacks this year, and you never know just how good of a season he might have. He’s good enough to me that I think any team that takes him, even at first overall, is making a great pick. And that’s despite my stance of being against taking receivers early.

Jeudy is elite. You take him and figure the rest out later.
