3. Get Trevor Lawrence rolling

The pre-season Heisman favorite struggled in the inaugural game of his sophomore season. Trevor Lawrence looked out of synch and made several bad decisions which resulted in two ugly interceptions.

In fact, Lawrence’s best play may have also been his worst play – the big hit he delivered to the Georgia Tech player who had just intercepted his pass.

Thankfully, Georgia Tech was never going to challenge Clemson, even when Lawrence and the passing game lacked its usual potency. The country learned that the Tigers can dominate a game behind Travis Etienne and their experienced offensive line.

Balance, however, is the name of the offensive game. In order to beat the elite teams in college football, Clemson needs to have its rushing attack and passing attack complimenting each other.

Enter, Texas A&M.

The highly talented Aggies will no doubt put up a better fight in week two than the Yellow Jackets did in Week 1. Better competition will demand good performances from Etienne and better performances from Lawrence.

With so many explosive receivers to throw to on the boundaries, Lawrence simply needs to be sharper with the ball to keep the defense honest and unclog between the tackles.

If Lawrence is able to return to proper form, expect the Clemson offense to steamroll the Aggies’ defense.
