1. Running backs ruled the day

While the two quarterbacks were the storyline coming in, it was the tailbacks that carried the offenses through tough waters on Saturday night.

For BYU, it was Ty’son Williams. He had 79 yards on 14 carries and found the end zone for the Cougars’ lone score. It wasn’t a game-breaking performance, but he was the most successful aspect of the BYU offense.

As Wilson grows and improves, Williams will be a reliable piece for the offense to lean on.

On the Tennessee side, Ty Chandler had himself a day. He had 152 yards on 22 carries, averaging 6.7 yards per carry. While he didn’t find the end zone, his 53-yard carry was a huge offensive play for a team that struggled to find production.

It’s imperative that Guarantano improves soon, but until then, the Vol offense will be led by Ty Chandler.
