2020 NFL Mock Draft: First round projections after Week 2
7. Lions: CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
CJ Henderson has such an exciting mix of speed and ball skills. He ran a 4.35 coming out of high school, and has all the speed needed to keep up with the best wideouts in the league.
Henderson is very good at knowing when to take risks, and when to jump a route. He doesn’t get beat often, because he has such a good sense for this.
He’s also proven to be a supplement to the pass rush. For defensive mind Matt Patricia, it has to be intriguing to see a cornerback like Henderson that also had three sacks in the 2018 season.
Within the division, he’ll see Aaron Rodgers twice a season. On Sunday, Detroit allowed rookie Kyler Murray to throw his way back from a late deficit to force a tie. It’s becoming more and more obvious that or the Lions to get over the hump, getting better against the pass is high on the list of priorities.
