1. Win the turnover battle

This may be an obvious statement, but it rings true again in this game. If South Carolina wants any chance of upsetting the Tide, they are going to have to win the turnover battle. On the defensive side of the ball, that means being composed and doing your job.

Will Muschamp is a defensive coach. He will come into this game with a great game plan. The defense just needs to commit to their assignments and play within themselves. If they take care of getting pressure on Tua, they will have an opportunity for much needed turnovers.

On the offensive side of the ball, protecting the ball will be key. Alabama will be ball-hawking and will capitalize on any chance they are given. Last week the Gamecocks threw an interception and lost a fumble to CSU. On the fumble, the ball was punched out intentionally by the defensive player. I’m sure that is something Saban and his coaches are telling the defense about this week.

If South Carolina can follow these three keys to the game, their chance of success will increase significantly. Beating Alabama has proven to always be a tall challenge. It will take a near-perfect game for the Gamecocks to come out on top in this one.
