3. Home-field advantage will be huge

LaVell Edwards Stadium is one of the few places left in college football where the seats are always full. They are especially packed and rocking when a big time team comes to Provo. It will be no different Saturday afternoon against USC. They were nearly filled (96 percent) to capacity in the Holy War against Utah. They will be close to that again in this game against USC.

The Cougars must take advantage of their home-field advantage.

When it get’s loud, weird things can happen. Maybe an offensive linemen isn’t in sync with the snap count and gets a false start penalty on 3rd-and-5 to make it 3rd-and-10. Whatever burst of energy the Cougars get from BYU nation, they have to use it.

One thing is for sure, Cougar head coach Kelani Sitake will have his team ready to pull the upset at home. If they can use the momentum they will have from playing at home to jump out to an early lead, they get what they want — an opportunity to hang around until the end and figure out a way to win in the fourth quarter.
