UCF Football: 3 keys to victory vs. Stanford in Week 3
By Kyle Grondin
1. Keep the big plays rolling
UCF has always been fast, but the drives put together to start the season have been jaw-dropping.
The Knights through two games haven’t had a single scoring drive last longer than four minutes. Their efficiency and ability to hit the big plays have been a staple to start the season. Freshman quarterback Dillon Gabriel only completed 37 percent of his passes in Week 2, but they were all long passes that allowed running lanes to open up for the Knights.
In fact, UCF has had nine touchdowns of 20 yards or more. The pace and big plays will be necessary to keep the home crowd roaring throughout.
They’ve been waiting for an opportunity to frustrate an opposing Power Five team at home, and a bit of fireworks will go a long way to keep the intensity.
