Quarterbacks: C

Sam Howell had some rough patches on Friday night, but he did show a tremendous ability to rebound. On the night, he was 17-for-28 for 182 yards, and he found the end zone twice. He struggled for the first three quarters, and was even benched for a short stretch, but he had a solid fourth quarter as the Tar Heels clawed their way back into this game.

Running Backs: B

The Tar Heel running backs were a vital part of their comeback. Michael Carter had a couple huge runs, including one for 50 yards, that sparked the North Carolina offense down the stretch. he had 96 yards on only 13 carries, and Javonte Williams added 27 yards on nine carries. For the small amount of touches the backs were given, they were a productive tandem.

Both backs also had two receptions, with Carter scoring on one of those catches.

Wide Receivers: B

It was a nice night on the outside for North Carolina. Dyami Brown had 84 yards on only three catches, one of those being a 55-yard touchdown bomb. Dazz Newsome was productive as well, picking up 62 yards on seven receptions.

Offensive Line: D

Any success for the Tar Heels on Friday night came in spite of the offensive line. The running backs had to create their own space and find yards where they could, but it was pass protection that was especially rough. Wake Forest was able to get to the quarterback six separate times.
