2. Chip Kelly’s hole gets deeper

It doesn’t get much more frustrating than Saturday night for Chip Kelly.

His quarterback played well. His run game was limited, but still eclipsed 100 yards. Yet, His Bruins lost by a count of 48-14.

In this spot, at a program that had been so down, improvement is such a big motivation. When you run into a buzzsaw like Oklahoma, it’s tough to see the improvements you’ve made. Kelly’s team, especially quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, is improving, but that wasn’t on display Saturday.

Next week, the Bruins travel to Washington State. After Anthony Gordon’s game on Friday night, that looks to be an offensive juggernaut as well.

Many are down on Chip Kelly, but he is playing a brutal schedule for a team that is trying to rebuild. There’s not much any coach could do in this spot.
