College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 4 – Clemson makes statement
By Zach Bigalke
Texas A&M exposed the talent gap between a Power Five school and the average FCS program, downing Lamar 62-3 on Saturday evening in College Station. The Aggies racked up 633 total yards of offense while holding the Cardinals to 197 yards when they had the ball. It was a comprehensive beatdown that will keep Jimbo Fisher’s team in the mid-teens of the AP Top 25.
Kellen Mond carved up the Cardinals for 317 passing yards and 25 rushing yards while accounting for a pair of touchdowns. Isaiah Spiller had a huge game on the ground, leading the Aggies with 116 yards and two scores on 14 carries. And kicker Seth Small remained perfect so far this season, finishing with two field goals and eight extra points.
The degree of difficulty increases dramatically for the next game at Kyle Field. Auburn heads to College Station in Week 4 for an SEC West matchup that could determine which team challenges Alabama and LSU for the division crown this season.
