College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 4 – Clemson makes statement
By Zach Bigalke
Oregon should remain in the top 15 after opening a 21-0 halftime lead on Big Sky visitors Montana. Justin Herbert already had 189 yards and three touchdown passes on 16-of-21 passing before the intermission, as the Ducks showed their skill advantage on the overmatched Grizzlies. There is little reason to think that Montana is going to reverse the outcome in the second half.
As Auburn continues winning, the loss to the Tigers will have less and less of a deleterious impact on where the Ducks fall in the AP Top 25 and will eventually serve to bolster Oregon’s position. They will continue to root for Auburn to stay unbeaten as long as possible to provide the strongest possible schedule in the eyes of pollsters.
Next week, Oregon shifts to conference play with a trip to the Bay Area to face Stanford on the Farm. With the Cardinal reeling from back-to-back losses against USC and UCF, the Ducks must be wary of a potential trap as they hope to reclaim the throne in the Pac-12 North.
