College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 4 – Clemson makes statement

Against an overmatched FCS opponent, Utah did exactly what pollsters expect of a Pac-12 contender. Kyle Whittingham’s Utes pitched a 31-0 shutout against visiting Idaho State, allowing the Bengals to gain just 116 total yards of offense and allowing them into Utah territory just long enough to punt the ball on the only two possessions that crossed midfield.
Tyler Huntley went 15-of-19 for 282 yards and three touchdowns before exiting the game early. Backup quarterback Drew Lisk was a perfect 6-of-6 for 38 yards. The ground game got things going strong, building on the 106 rushing yards and a touchdown piled up by Zack Moss to finish with 223 yards on the ground as a team.
The shine came off Utah’s Week 4 game against USC at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Friday night after the Trojans fell at BYU. But that also burnished the strength of their Week 1 win over the Cougars. The showdown with the Trojans is still a key Pac-12 South showdown that could ultimately determine which team represents the division in the conference championship game, The Utes could push into the top 10 of the AP Top 25 if they win in California.
