1. Urban Meyer

Well, we might as well talk about it. Urban Meyer knows nothing but success. Looking all the way back to Bowling Green, you can call the man whatever you may please, but you simply can’t deny it, he knows how to win.

Coach Meyer continues to be linked to jobs such as USC and Notre Dame. For a man to be so hated, he sure is missed. People can’t stand it. They want Urban Meyer coaching a team. You might not get them to out and say it, but it’s true, they miss him.

Do I think that Meyer would take the USC job? Yes. Do I think it will happen? No.

It’s pretty simple, actually. If Notre Dame finds a way to lose to both Georgia and Michigan, then you are left with a pretty useless football team. Under Brian Kelly, the Fighting Irish have been absolutely embarrassed by Alabama, struggled to beat Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl, couldn’t stop Les Miles’ non-existent offense in the Music City Bowl, embarrassed by Ohio State, went 4-8, and got slapped in the face by Clemson.

To make a long story short, if talks between Urban Meyer and USC arise, then do not expect “health concerns” to be the issue. The issue will be a 10-2 Notre Dame team lead by a 10-year letdown in Kelly.  Do not think for one minute that if the Irish find out that Meyer is willing to talk contracts, that they won’t relieve Kelly and immediately offer Urban his “dream job”.

Don’t let the Meyer rumors get too out of hand. There are many top ranked coaches out there that could get that job done for USC football. In the midst of this early excitement, who’s to say that Clay Helton and the Trojans don’t turn the season around? Anything is possible.
