Pick Analysis. Jeffrey Okudah. 9. player. 45. Scouting Report. CB. Ohio State

Ohio State’s Jeffrey Okudah is the type of aggressive man-coverage cornerback who would be a perfect fit in a Denver defensive system predicated on leaving its corners on an island in one-on-one coverage.

In a division where you will have to see Patrick Mahomes twice a year every year for the next decade or more, loading up on talented cornerbacks is a must. Veteran cornerback Chris Harris is a free-agent after this season, and he’s on the wrong side of 30. The Broncos will likely be looking for his replacement this offseason.

Okudah is an aggressive, in-your-face type of corner who loves to press and challenge receivers at the line-of-scrimmage. He has good speed to stay with speedy receivers, but he’s also got enough strength to contend with the more physical receivers or tight ends. He recovers well when he makes the occasional mistake off the line.

This is a really deep class for defensive backs, and while I think LSU’s Delpit is the top overall defensive back, Okudah stands out among a loaded crop of cornerbacks.
