Pick Analysis. EDGE. A.J. Epenesa. player. 30. Scouting Report. Iowa. 10

The Jets would be thrilled at the opportunity to team A.J. Epenesa with last year’s top pick Quinnen Williams to form a young, formidable offensive line in a front-seven that should continue to make major strides throughout the 2019 season.

Epenesa has the talent to be a top-five pick. He’s got unbelievable physical attributes at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds. Epenesa has violent hands and sheds blockers with ease. You have to double Epensa or he will live in the backfield.

He managed 10.5 sacks for Iowa in 2018, and while he’s gotten off to a slow start stats-wise in 2019, he commands so much attention on his side of the field that he consistently opens the door for his teammates to get in the backfield and make plays.

The Jets may have more important needs – namely at wide receiver and on the offensive line – but it would be tough to pass on Epenesa if he falls to No. 10 as the top overall player on many boards at this point of the night.
