Scouting Report. OL. Tyler Biadasz. Pick Analysis. Wisconsin. 13. player. 87

Cam Newton still doesn’t look right even after shoulder surgery. The Panthers could have an interesting decision to make as Newton’s contract is up after next season, but for now Carolina would be wise to continue looking at upgrading its offensive line. Newton has taken far too many hits over this career to this point.

Wisconsin’s Tyler Biadasz has been the leader of dominant Wisconsin offensive lines for three years now, paving the way for one of college football’s best running backs in Johnathan Taylor. While Taylor deserves credit for his immense talent, Biadasz has consistently opened up wide holes for Taylor to run through.

Bidasz has a nasty streak in him, taking pleasure from driving defenders into the ground for pancakes. He has excellent strength, and if he gets his hands on you then it’s usually game over for the defender. He explodes to the second level, getting downhill quickly to open up lanes for those running behind him.

Upgrades in the secondary will also be sorely needed, but the Panthers might wait until day two to look at a cornerback in a class as deep as this. Biadasz is the draft’s top interior lineman, and the gap between him and No. 2 at the moment isn’t close.
