player. 31. Scouting Report. Ohio State. Chase Young. 4. Pick Analysis. EDGE

The Giants would be salivating if Chase Young, a player who has a legitimate case as the best overall prospect in the 2020 class, is still available when they select at No. 4.

Chase Young has been a dominant force on a terrorizing Ohio State defense through three games in 2019. Young has five sacks through three games, and the Buckeyes have dominated its opposition so much so far that Young has spent the majority of second halves on the bench. Vernon Gholston’s Ohio State record of 14 sacks in a single season appears to be in serious jeopardy if Young stays healthy for a full season.

The most terrifying part of Young’s game is that he’s far from a finished product. He’s a freakish athlete, but there’s a lot he could stand to clean up in terms of a technique standpoint. A few years of working with NFL coaches will unleash the full repertoire of Young’s game, and he could develop into one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.

The Giants would have a tough decision to make in this spot with Chase Young and Jerry Jeudy – arguably the top two players in the class – still on the board. It’s a good situation to be in, though, because it’s almost impossible to mess that pick up. I’m sure the Giants will try, however.
