2020 NFL Mock Draft, Week 3: First-round projections – Justin Herbert rising?
Even in a ridiculously loaded wide receive room, Jerry Jeudy stands out. The 2018 Biletnikoff winner is off to a hot start in 2019, proving to be virtually uncoverable through three games, much like he was all of 2018.
Jeudy checks all the boxes for a No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL, and he’s drawn comparisons to All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Jeudy’s best trait is his route-running ability. He can run the full route tree, and has some of the best footwork I’ve ever seen from a receiver prospect. He can change directions and stop on a dime, oftentimes making defensive backs look downright foolish when they try to tackle him.
The Alabama wide out also has outstanding speed, and is almost impossible to catch in the open field. And even if you do catch him, he’s likely to hit you with a juke move that leaves you in the dirt as he races down the sideline toward the endzone.
Jeudy doesn’t have the measurables that will make teams salivate, but a quick look at the tape will render all of that moot. He’s got the potential to be an Antonio Brown/Odell Beckham Jr. type receiver in the league, hopefully without all the drama that has surrounded those two.
