Georgia. 7. 53. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. Andrew Thomas. player

If the Browns end up drafting this high, things will have gone terribly wrong in Cleveland after they entered the season as the favorite to capture the AFC North. That will likely mean that the offensive line regressed back after a strong finish to the 2018 season. If that’s the case, then the only way the Browns should go with this pick is to grab a potential franchise offensive tackle to protect Baker Mayfield.

Georgia’s Andrew Thomas has all the makings of a franchise left tackle. He’s got prototypical size at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds. Thomas has excellent agility and footwork, consistently paving the way for Georgia’s ground game, but also showing great hands and pad-level to stymie pass rushers.

Thomas has exceptional length, and he uses that to his advantage to keep edge rushers at bay. Thomas has the strength and power to stone power moves from defensive linemen, and also the quickness to hold up against the speed guys off the edge.

His technique could stand to improve, but Thomas has every tool you could want in a young offensive tackle. The Browns would be wise to focus on their offensive line, but LSU safety Grant Delpit would be mighty tempting right here.
