2. Michigan at Wisconsin (Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. ET – FOX)

This game is ahead of the Auburn vs. Texas A&M contest because one of its participants, Michigan, had a ton of preseason hype to make the College Football Playoff. After a scare two weeks ago against Army in overtime, Michigan is off a bye and hopefully ready for its second trip to Madison in three years.

Wisconsin, also off a bye, has looked sharp and hasn’t allowed a single point to either USF or Central Michigan in its first two games.

Wisconsin’s defense has dominated so far and Jonathan Taylor has been everything and more that Wisconsin fans have hoped for this year. The Heisman Trophy is absolutely within reach for the junior. The Badgers started the year nowhere near the playoff discussion because of the questions at quarterback and an abysmal 2018, but find themselves a win this weekend away from being the favorite in the Big Ten West and the clear second-best team in the Big Ten behind Ohio State.

Michigan hasn’t had much time on the field this year, but what it has shown isn’t very good. The sample size is small and you can bet this game will not be something the Wolverines take lightly. Just like Wisconsin has a chance to slot itself right behind Ohio State in the Big Ten race, so does Michigan. A road win here for the Wolverines would be massive for their perception in the eyes of the committee and college football fans alike.
