3. Zack Moss goes off

Zack Moss has put up numbers that any offensive coordinator would drool over this season. He is averaging 6.5 yards per carry and slightly over 124 yards per game –187 of those yards came against BYU in the first game of the season. In his last performance, Moss averaged 10 yards per carry against a lesser opponent in Idaho State.

The reason why I feel that Moss is primed to go off in this game has more to do with USC’s defensive line than anything else. Defensive lineman Christian Rector is still questionable for this week’s game. He has been participating in practice but that doesn’t mean he will get this nod. He participated in practice on Friday of last week before the BYU game and he was still sidelined.

Other notable injuries include Solomon Tuliaupupu who was slated to start at linebacker for the Trojans this season.

The task of shutting down Moss is already a tough draw. Adding in these injuries at key positions makes it darn near impossible. I predict that the Trojans will not be able to set the edge and force Moss back into the middle of the defense. That being said, he is a nightmare to tackle in the open field. Moss goes off for 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns this week.
