1. Force turnovers

The cliche old as time “win the turnover battle, and you will win the game” will stand more true than ever this Saturday for the Broncos. Facing a triple-option team that runs the ball 80 percent of its plays is always hard when it comes to the turnover battle.

With one of the biggest strengths the Boise State team has in its own defensive line, we should see the Broncos able to disrupt multiple handoffs and cause confusion in the backfield.

The Broncos’ biggest star on the defensive side of the ball is Curtis Weaver. A Long Beach Poly graduate that is expected to go in this year’s draft as a redshirt junior has been a menace on the field in the first three games. Weaver compiled four sacks last Saturday and led the Boise State defense to a second-half shutout. The Broncos have yet to allow a point to be scored in the second half of any game they have played in 2019.

Boise State will need Weaver and the rest of the defensive front at their best on Saturday in order to keep the triple-option under wraps.
