2. Jake Fromm > Ian Book
Having a player running the offense who you can trust when the game is on the line is one of the most valuable things a top team can have. In the case of these two teams, Georgia has this player, and Notre Dame does not.
Jake Fromm has led Georgia since he was a true freshman, which include back-to-back trips to SEC Championship, a Rose Bowl win, and an appearance in the 2018 College Football Playoff Championship Game. Fromm looks as comfortable as ever in these first three games of the year and is holding an impressive 75 percent completion percentage.
Our only example of seeing Ian Book play on the biggest stage in last year’s Cotton Bowl in the College Football Playoff Semifinal against Clemson. Notre Dame scored only three points in that game and Ian Book passed for a mere 160 yards.
This season, Book has complete 61 percent of his passes and has increased his running game presence. His reliance on the ability to get the job done on the ground will be detrimental to his performance in this weeks’ game against the Bulldogs due to their incredible speed on defense. We should expect Ian Book to struggle incorporating his dual-threat ability against Georgia.
