The first true test for Notre Dame football will come this Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs. What can we expect in this one?

We all know the Notre Dame football story. They have the history, the respect, and just about everything else a program would want. However, they have a specific set of criteria that no other school in the Power Five has. Since they don’t have a conference, it’s very simple. If the Fighting Irish can go 12-0, they will make the College Football Playoff. If they lose any game in the regular season, they will likely kiss that dream goodbye.

With the freedom to schedule whoever they want, Notre Dame boasts one of the toughest schedules in college football. Between two easy games and a bye week, they haven’t truly been tested. The same cannot be said for Week 4. This week, Notre Dame football will have to travel to Athens to play the Georgia Bulldogs, one of the toughest teams in the country.

These teams played against each other two years ago at Notre Dame, and Georgia came out of it with a close win that propelled them into the College Football Playoff. That was seemingly the start of this new era of Georgia football, and Notre Dame hopes to get that same kind of boost with a potential road win.

Now, let’s be honest. Georgia will be favored in this game for a reason. Between the dynamic offense, Kirby Smart defense, and the home-field advantage, Notre Dame will face an uphill battle. Nonetheless, this game will likely be one of the best in all of college football this season.

What can we expect to see from this game? Here are some predictions that are on the bolder side of the spectrum.
