Auburn football heads into College Station as the underdog on Saturday. Here’s why the Tigers will bring home a victory on Saturday.

The Auburn Tigers are off to a 3-0 start, but even with a big win over Oregon, there are still many questions. As Gus Malzahn’s team heads to Kyle Field to play Texas A&M, Vegas has the Aggies as the favorite.

Despite all of that, Auburn can absolutely win this game, and for a plethora of reasons. For the Tigers, this game is vital, also for a plethora of reasons.

Since the Aggies entered the SEC, this matchup has been a big catalyst for things to come in Auburn. 2012 saw the Tigers suffer a blowout loss on the way to a 3-9 season and the firing of Gene Chizik. The 2013 win in College Station was the game that signaled Auburn’s ability to play and win big games, and they would go all the way to a close loss in the BCS title game. The 2014 loss after a late turnover was the beginning of that season’s unraveling.

Time and time again, the result of this game has been a portent of the remaining season ahead.

This game also has increased importance in a year where the Tigers have such a tough schedule. This game isn’t an easy one by any stretch, but in a year that also features LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, they walk such a thin line between 9-3 and 7-5. With three top ten teams in that list, the Tigers know they must get every win they can.
