3. Darius Anderson is a beast in the TCU backfield

While there was plenty of disappointment in Fort Worth after the loss to the Mustangs, there is little to call out from the performance Darius Anderson put up in the TCU backfield. The veteran running back churned out one hard carry after another, keeping the Horned Frogs in the football game even when the rest of the team seemed intent on throwing everything away when they had the football.

Anderson racked up 161 yards and a pair of scores on 19 carries, averaging eight and a half yards per carry on a day when the rest of the team struggled to move the football consistently on the ground. Though it came in defeat, it was an unimpeachable performance that shines no less for the lack of a victory attached to it.

The running back remains the most consistent offensive performer for the Horned Frogs. When he was injured earlier in the year his absence showed, and as long as Anderson remains healthy and in the game TCU will have a shot to come out ahead. As this game showed, however, Anderson is not capable of picking up the team entirely and carrying them alone. Without much support in the first half, his contribution was lost in the shuffle.
